They recognize our expertise in the alternative lending industry, earned through over 30 years of leadership.

Home is committed to helping our mortgage brokers succeed in building their practice to serve even more borrowers. We have developed innovative solutions and digital tools to help them build their own businesses. We hold regular education sessions and presentations that feature custom solutions for target market segments. We regularly look for feedback on how we can improve and deepen our support.

This commitment was acknowledged by the industry when we were awarded the Bank Lender of the Year at the Mortgage Awards of Excellence in May of 2019. This award was especially meaningful to us, because it demonstrates the value that our peers and brokers place on their relationship with the team at Home. They recognize that their purpose is our purpose. Whatever changes should impact the mortgage industry in the future, they know we will be there to help.

At Home Trust, we know that nobody really wants a mortgage. In fact, once they have one, most borrowers try to get rid of their mortgage as fast as they can. What people really want is a home. They want to put down roots, connect with a neighbourhood, become part of a community. A mortgage is just an instrument that makes that dream of home ownership a reality. It is the cornerstone of a financial plan where buyers can establish credit and invest for their future. We work with all types of borrower profiles, including business owners, newcomers to Canada, first-time buyers and borrowers with a credit history touched by a one-time event. When people come to us for a mortgage, it is because they know we will listen. We will take the time to understand their financial situation and the elements of their income that are unique to them. We know how to help them. Home has a unique perspective that comes from over 30 years’ experience helping our customers become homeowners. Because nobody really dreams of having a mortgage.

Oaken is an award-winning brand. Since the launch of Oaken in 2013, we have won many awards for our savings account as well as the GICs that we offer. Last year, RateHub recognized both our one-year and five-year GICs as the best in the industry.
